Make-Up week is underway for our Winter season. Please make every effort to work around the New Year and get as many games played as possible. Seeding can come down to plants per game and other stats you can only earn while playing games. It is important, not to mention way more fun, to actually play your games. Here's what you need to know:

CAPTAINS: PLEASE READ THIS!

In order to have some form of accountability, please use the following policy for make-up week.

If you have unplayed games, it is important that you check the Make-Up Week Schedule, contact your opponents, and get those games played immediately. Any game submitted after the end of Saturday, January 5th (at 11:59:59pm Pacific time) will not be accepted.

HOW TO AVOID A FORFEIT LOSS

All games in Make-Up Week are scheduled for your division's normal day to play (for example the Ninja division plays on Fridays) at 9pm Eastern time. Plan to have your team online and available to play for at least one hour. If your opponents are not available, start a custom game with just your team - it doesn't matter what game or how long you play - then message one of our Admins (preferrably via PM on XBL) to prove you were online at that time. This will guarantee that the other team can not request a forfeit win against your team.

*For Sunday division only - since this was not posted until Monday, if you have any questions on who deserves a forfeit win from whom, please message an admin and we will work out issues on a case-by-case basis.

IF YOU RESCHEDULE...

Even if you can't play on the scheduled day, do your best to work with your opponents and try to get the games played anyway. If you do reschedule, you and the other captain should both send one of our Admins a message with the new day and time you plan to play. You should still follow the procedure mentioned above on that rescheduled day and time if your opponent still doesn't show up.

FILING FOR A FORFEIT WIN

If in the end, you still can not get your opponent to play you, instructions for how to file for a forfeit win are on the Game Submission Form.

ROSTER LOCK

Captains should also be aware that at the completion of make-up week rosters for every team will be locked. This means that you will no longer be able to add players if you have spots available, or remove those who have been benched all season. Only players who appear on your roster are allowed to play for your team during playoffs - so if you need to make any changes, be sure to do so before the end of Saturday!

College football is starting its 'post season', which of course means the time has come for bowl games, where the top teams from the NCAA face off against each other. Thanks to four to oh and SlimJimX50, the NGA will be running a league where the person who picks the most bowl game winners correctly wins!

You must have a Yahoo! account to join the league, but don't worry if you don't because it is an easy and free process to make one. You'll have the option when you click to register.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The first bowl games are on Saturday so make sure to join the league and set your picks before then.

Team Registration for Winter League 2013 has been re-opened to replace forfeit factories with new teams that would like to play.  Any team signing up should be aware that you will have three weeks to play all 10 of your regular season games.  Any team not willing to do whatever it takes to make this happen should consider waiting until next season's signups open.

We have been given a gift, a variant of Halo 4 Grifball without sprint. Vanilla is back! Registration is now open for teams to compete in tonight's official Halo 3each BOMB! Games will start shortly after 10PM. Come try it out and let us know what you think. The gametype will be distributed to lobbies personally, under no circumstances should the gametype be put in anyone's fileshare. The court to use here is NGA Stellar as it is the smallest map in our collection. You can find it in shadowxtc's file share if you do not already have it. Hope to see you there!

One of the most fun events we participated in back in the days of HaloCharts was the HC Gamertag Night. It was a mad scramble for 48 hour codes - but filling a lobby with 8 HC tags and taking matchmaking by storm, promoting the site and enjoying the clan catcalls - it was truly priceless.

This weekend happens to be a Free XBox Live Gold Weekend, and we're going to be running an NGA Gamertag Night starting Saturday at 9pm ET, and we'll be going strong until, well, until we're not. We'll play whatever the community wants, with preference given to matchmaking playlists so we can show off. If you'd like to volunteer to be a party leader, leave a note in the event thread. Here's the fine print:

To participate, you must register an XBL account with the format NGA (space) whatever you want, for example: NGA Shadow. You're free to brag about your incredible tag, and you're also free to treat the night like a masquerade ball and hide behind your mask. XBL should take care of the most offensive choices for tags; don't go and pick a name directly insulting to another member of the community, or your participation may be denied.

Once you've registered your tag, send a FR or message to our existing group tag, NGA Grifball. That's where you'll get your party invites from. To make things interesting, if we get 16 or more unique players to participate with gamertags in the correct format, we'll set up a poll to vote for the best one, and scrape together some sort of awesome prize.

Even finer print: Xbox Live Free Gold Weekend lasts from 11/29 through 12/3 at 9am Pacific time. You should be able to register and use more than one account during this promotion, so if you've wanted to setup and pre-rank-up a second gamertag for one of the other... purely legitimate reasons, yes, that's it... now's your chance to do that and have a little fun with all of our NGA friends this Saturday night!
